Making Change Really Work

To make any change really stick we have to ensure that any changes on the 'processes' side are balanced by real behavioural change.

A ’systems and processes only’ approach will normally create resistance to the proposed changes and will fail to deliver the results you desire. For example, if you wanted to change your culture from a command-control style to a more inclusive style, as well as looking at reporting structures and responsibilities, managers would have to change their beliefs about how managers act, and ultimately change how they behave. ‘An autocratic manager will still be an autocratic manager after a ‘process only’ approach to change’.

“The deed is everything. It’s repute nothing”
