Jon Chapman

Jon worked in industrial market research for several years then moved to work for the Hay Group as a business analyst and as a management consultant. He worked for fifteen years in the speciality chemicals industry as Commercial Director and Chief Executive of an independent medium-sized UK company. He was Director of Responsible Care at the UK Chemical Industry Association, involving consultation, lobbying and dialogue with industry, government, regulators, NGO's and professional bodies at UK, European and international levels. Jon now works full time as a freelance management development consultant and executive coach.

Jon's first degree was in history, for which he won a scholarship at Cambridge University and in which he retains a strong interest. He has a Cranfield MBA and has undertaken extensive training in personal development techniques. He has completed a four-year training programme in Pesso-Boyden body-mind psychotherapy.

Jon is a Visiting Fellow at the Praxis Centre at Cranfield School of Management, where he designs and delivers management and leadership development programmes, specialising in resilience, transformational leadership, influencing strategies, and interpersonal skills.

Jon is a co-founder of The Parzival Project, an organisation that brings the mythic imagination and archetypal energies into the corporate arena through storytelling and experiential learning.

These programmes include coaching and action learning set facilitation. Jon has worked with organisations from both public and private sector, in the UK and abroad; sectors include mining, automotive, consumer products, utilities, financial services, construction engineering, information systems, healthcare, education, publishing & media, and professional sport.

  • Qualification as an Organisational Development (OD) Consultant and Coach
  • Masters in Business Administration, Cranfield School of Management
  • A certified Practitioner in Pesso Boyden System Psychomotor (PBSP) integrative body-mind psychotherapy, Jon is currently training as a Supervisor for those using PBSP in coaching
  • As an associate member of the Association of Humanistic Psychology Practitioners (AHPP), Jon observes the ethical guidelines of this UKCP-accredited professional body
  • Qualifications in the use of psychometric & survey tools (e.g. Belbin Team Profiling, Stress Freeway Wellbeing Survey)
  • Ongoing personal development programmes, workshops & conferences to increase personal development and coaching skills and techniques
  • Personal supervision of his own coaching activities to improve his practice.
